Config wizard

Setting up Grim's punishments normally means editing YAML by hand. The Warden AC dashboard does it for you: answer a few plain questions and it generates a correct file to copy in. You stay in control, nothing is changed on your server automatically.

Where to find it

In the dashboard sidebar, under the Grim section, there are two tabs:

  • Config wizard, the guided way. A few questions, and a ready to paste punishments.yml.
  • Punishments, the advanced way. Fine-tune each category's thresholds and actions by hand.

Using the wizard

1
Pick your Grim version
This sets the folder the file belongs in (plugins/GrimAC on recent builds, plugins/Grim on older ones) and shows a compatibility note where needed.
2
Choose your server type
Survival, PvP, minigames or anarchy. This tunes how forgiving combat and movement checks are, since a competitive PvP server needs more headroom than a survival server.
3
Set how strict you want it
Lenient, balanced or strict. Stricter means Grim acts sooner, at the cost of a slightly higher chance of a false flag.
4
Decide what happens on a flag
Alert only (you moderate from the dashboard), auto-kick repeat offenders, or auto-ban blatant cheaters. If you pick auto-ban you can set the exact ban command, so a punishment plugin works too.
5
Copy the file
The generated punishments.yml appears with a copy and a download button, plus the exact path and reload step.

Applying it

The wizard never touches your server. You place the file yourself:

On your server
1. Copy the generated file.
2. Open plugins/GrimAC/punishments.yml (or plugins/Grim/ on older builds).
3. Replace the contents and save.
4. Run /grim reload (or restart the server).
Keep a backup
Back up your existing punishments.yml before you replace it, so you can always roll back. Lower thresholds act sooner but raise the chance of a false flag, so start balanced and tighten from there while you watch your Warden AC flag feed.

The Punishments tab

Want more control than the wizard gives? The Punishments tab lists each category (Movement, Timer, Combat, Post, Knockback, BadPackets) and lets you set, per category, when it alerts, kicks or bans and how long Grim remembers violations. It generates the same kind of file. For the full detail on what these categories and thresholds mean, see Autobans & punishments.

This only sets punishments
The wizard writes Grim's punishments.yml, which decides who gets alerted, kicked or banned and when. It doesn't change Grim's detection sensitivity in config.yml, which is fine on its defaults. To understand the underlying files, see Configuring Grim.
